Founded on December 16, 1979 and aims to:

a) Promote and develop sport, recreational and cultural activities among its members and also non-members, as well as preserve and disseminate the Portuguese language and culture through the means deemed more useful.

b) Seek to stimulate and interest as many members as possible in the activities of Casa Portuguesa so that these (members) feel that they are an active and integral part of the association, that they are the ones who develop and make Casa Portuguesa work, and not just the governing bodies . Casa Portuguesa's principles are also respect for democracy, freedom of expression and the integrity of the individual.
